My Story

I’ve always been on the chubby side. I always loved food, and hated exercise.

Most of the time my weight never really bothered me. I mean getting dressed in front of the mirror was always depressing, but as soon as I had clothes on I was ok.
I did have moments where I really hated being the fat friend though, and I’d get upset when my clothes had clearly shrunk in the wash and no longer fit and so I’d embark on a new healthy lifestyle only to lose a couple of kilos and then go straight back to my old junk eating lazy ways. I did this from the ages of 12 (if not younger) to 20- trying every way possible, from not eating, to purging, to not eating carbs, to not eating meat, to only drinking shakes etc. Of course- none of those worked!

It wasn’t until after my second child was born in 2011 that something clicked.. I stopped having fast food, sugar, soft drink, and alcohol. I got my kids in the stroller and started walking. I then went back to the gym 4-5 days a week and in 4 short months I had lost 17kg reaching my goal of 60kg.
Although I was happy with my weightloss, under clothes I still looked the same.. just smaller - I was “skinny fat”.

I decided to give Jamie Easons LiveFit trainer program a go as I’d seen some great before and after pics from it.
I feel like this is what changed my life. I learnt how to properly nourish my body and how important it is to eat!
I learnt how to train properly (with the help of a few trainers at the gym) and how important lifting weights as well as cardio is for your body.
Over 3 months my body changed drastically. My arms, shoulders, and back became toned, my tummy flattened, my love handles dissapeared, my bum lifted and my legs started to have some shape.

I decided about a month into LiveFit and lifting weights for the first time that I wanted to compete in Bodybuilding. For the first time in my life I’ve found something that really interests me, and that I love. I’ve found a sport that I’m good at!!

I’m now about to start preparing to do a comp in September in the Figure category. I also plan to do my cert III & IV in Fitness in the future too, and once my kids are in school I’ll become a personal trainer.

I’m so happy about the direction my life has taken. I love having goals and reaching them. There’s nothing better that to feel like you’ve accomplished something! :)
